What it is, for me, to be a psychic medium…why I feel the need to do this work.

It’s not that I didn’t want, or even wanted to be a psychic medium. I really didn’t know anything about it. I knew what a psychic was, or at least I thought I did. I had all the misconceptions and preconceived notions about what psychics did. They told your fortune, read Tarot Cards, used crystal balls, dressed funny, were a hoax who cheated you out of money, told you what you wanted to hear.

Then something happened, to me. My mind and heart were opened up to the possibilities of psychic mediumship work.

I did my first reading for a friend and the intensity and clarity of what I was sensing and “seeing” made me believe I have a gift. For that is what being a psychic medium is, it is possessing a gift of being able to open one’s self to the energy and light of a world beyond our physical one. To reach out and receive what the spirit world wants us to know and understand.

It surprised me, but it also made me grateful. I am grateful to be able to pass along what I am seeing and sensing to a person who needs to know more and feel some form of peace.

Everyone is intuitive, empathic, even psychic to some degree, but most people don’t recognize or develop their unique abilities. Their powers lie dormant, unused. I fell into this category for most of my life.

I always felt a connection to a spiritual path, especially through my maternal grandmother. However, I didn’t know anything about what that entailed or how to explore those feelings. I certainly didn’t know about any psychic abilities or what it meant to be a psychic medium.

I am an empath and feel a calling to help people, I even have a background in counseling. However, my journey of further discovery was blocked because of a long period of chronic pain. Before I could expand what knowledge I had and explore my abilities, I needed to solve my health issues.

Luckily, I found the right person at the right time to help me heal. The process took some time, a great deal of energy work, and patience. Yet, with the healing came a greater awareness of who I am as a person, and as a psychic medium.
